What you’ll do

As a Software Engineer in our Digital and Venue Technology team, you will partner directly with the Wagering & Media business to innovate and deliver software engineering and focus the delivery of engineering solutions for Retail and Venue. You will deliver technical capability and will and plan, design, coordinate and execute high quality technology solutions. Key will be your ability to ensure that the vision of the business, and future product development, achieves their desired targets, and deliver the highest possible value to the business.

Key accountabilities:

• Influence and collaborate as a genuine trusted advisor throughout technology.
• Support an environment of continuous improvement and actively champion contemporary delivery practices, supported by effective governance.
• Collaborate to devise solutions aligned Enterprise Architects and Solution Architects in Domain specific areas.
• Establish a clear process for managing and monitoring customer satisfaction and feedback.
• Build and deliver software solutions using contemporary approaches.
• Maintain awareness of releases and enhancement requirements and the impact these have on system maintenance.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of contemporary approaches, techniques, and technologies used in the building, deployment, and configuration of software and systems.
• Participate in workshops, stand ups, product demonstrations and retrospectives.
• Troubleshoot technical problems and resolve incidents and requests.

What you’ll bring

You may be early in your tech career, or a recent graduate. Apart from a passion for tech, you will be detail minded, a great communicator, a curious and passionate learner and are comfortable to share your ideas.

• Good knowledge of supporting web technologies, languages & frameworks - ideally AngularJS, JavaScript, ReactJS, SQL and Splunk
• Experience delivering on a complex platforms including continuous integration/ continuous deployment within an agile environment.
• Knowledge of application development techniques and structured application design.
• Good knowledge of common API, web and application architectures and development methodologies
• Experience working on highly transactional platform and high performing RESTful APIs .
• Knowledge & solid understanding of Agile Development.
• A proactive approach to keeping abreast of the IT&T industry, as well as technology trends and related practices

Highly desirable:

• Knowledge in Docker and microservice architectures in AWS.
• Experience in uplifting AngularJS to newer languages such as Flutter or ReactJS.
• Experience in Bash, PowerShell or Python.
• Detailed knowledge of gambling and entertainment industries (nice to have).
• Experience or knowledge of Typescript/JavaScript on Node.
• Experience in working in a competitive, fast paced industry (preferred).
• Experience working with a team for integrated source control (GitHub).
• CI/CD and cloud base instrumentation (e.g., AWS, BuildKite, GoCD).
